Lizard Hunt (open to all Seraphs) « Thread Started on Oct 7, 2008, 8:42pm »
Darrius landed on one of the more higher pieces of the ruins, the sun beat down on him, as it was just a little pass noon. Perfect time of day for the lizards, as they loved the sun, this was their nap time, their most dangerous time.
Darrius had his hair back in a warrior's braid, he was sporting soft brown pajama styled pants and creamed colored sleeveless shirt, which was slit down the front of him but loosely tied close with a leather string. He had his swords on his back, a boot knife and a small crossbow tied at his waist.
He surveyed the lay of the ruins, and smiled glad he did not have to wear his leathers today, nor did anyone else on the hunt this day.
They hunted the lizards for two reasons, one it was good training for the younger Seraphs, gave them an enemy they could take on with a blade that had teeth and would fight back, not stopping till it was dead or the Seraph that attacked it. Yes once attacked, they would track down the one that hurt them, they had even been know to leave the ruins and almost make it to The Keep after a wounded Seraph.
And the second reason, was that Seraphs were hooked on lizard meat, didn't matter if they never ate it, sooner or later they would need it, crave it, desire it above all else. Darrius felt it was some cruel trick of Sayjinn, but who was he to say.
He glance once more at the sun, and waited for the rest to show up.

Arlene yawned as she landed lazily on a near by ruin to where Darius stood, his silver hair gleaming in the sunlight. Unlike Darius, or a fair number of the Seraphs, she did not have silver hair. Instead, her hair was a vibrant, fiery orange that flew behind her in the subtle wind like flames. Looking around for a moment or two, she realized that none of her fellow Seraphs had arrived for the Lizard hunt yet which made her crouch lazily on her piece of ruin, awaiting the late arrivals.
At that moment, Arlene wore a pair of loose fitting draw string pants that hung on her hips in a low fashion. They were a khaki in color. With that, she wore an olive green tie around long sleeved shirt that came right above her belly button with sleeves that were bell, and loose around the shoulders, showing the straps of her tank top beneath. She didn't carry much when it came to weaponry except for the knife sheath that was strapped around her thigh which held a dagger.
Yawning once again, she shifted her eyes over to Darius and shrugged. "I'm not going to be the only one here, am I? This better not have been some lame attempt at alone time with me, Lord," she said, as she stretched up with another lazy yawn. Waking up from her nap was the last thing Arlene had wanted to do to come and partake in this however the thought of Lizard meat sounded good at that moment and is what kept her there.

Saedalynn appeared amidst the ruins in the distance, her sword held loosely in one hand. She was walking briskly through them, her eyes darting from side to side. Normally she would have flown over them, but she wanted to get a better lay of the land. When she looked up for a moment she saw that Darrius and a female Seraph were there, and assumed by the lack of other seraphs that she could not have been late.
Her knees bent slightly and her wings were held taught forward for a moment until she sprang forth into the air. A few flaps later she joined the two, facing them, on a nearby piece of protruding rubble. Were her mind elsewhere, she didn't allow it to show, she simply looked between the other too and lifted an eyebrow. "Is everyone else lost?" She finally sheathed her sword noting that she was on an outcropping and would be relatively safe at this point.
Were one to take the time to notice, she had a bit of bags under her eyes, but she did not seem to grimace it. At the very least she did not suffer elsewhere in her appearance for such an occasion. Her dark green tunic laced and tied on the arms and at the top of her chest, hung over her fitted pants that tucked into her thick boots.
She finally added, "Or were they eaten by lizards?"

Darrius just kept looking straight as it to take in the view, mostly as he was hoping for a good size lizard this day, enough to keep The Keep happy, even maybe if they were lucky two or three lizards, he just hoped that more would show up.
"Ah, my dear Arlene, I have learned my lesson," he turned and smiled down at her, "if I really wanted you, I would just send for you like any other female of the Keep whose duty it is to keep my bed warm." He then just smiled sweetly at her, "side, the way you are yawning, I am no doubt boring you to tears."
He then noticed that Saedalynn was walking towards them, "good day Saedalyn, ready to join us in th hunt today, or are you like your sister Seraph and ready for a nap?"

"Actually, I just woke up from my nap, Lord, so you'll have to excuse the fact that I am still drowsy," she offered over to Darrius before waving lazily at Saedalynn. Since she had been in a lazy crouch before, she decided to stand up on her feet with a stretch so that she could wake herself up. If she didn't do something about her sleepy nature, she might get attacked by one of those big lizards opposed to her attacking them. With a shake of her body to wake herself up, she looked around a bit more and squinted. "I see none of your fellow Seraph brothers came along. Perhaps they are just being fashionably late," taunted the red headed Seraph over to the Lord of The Keep.

She wasn't sure if Dar was implying something more then a nap, but decided to play it safe, "Were I interested in a nap would I have come to a lizard infested place with my sword?" She looked doubtfully at Darrius, then over to Arlene and nodded to her with a smile of acknowledgment. She realized that Arlene did have a point though, it seemed that there were only three of them there.
"Maybe Darrius is just loosing his touch at getting rallying us all for something as simple as a lizard hunt." Of course she was joking of course, but there was something strange about the lack of everyone else's absence. "I'm guessing this wasn't mandatory?"

"I sent out word, we should have some more coming," he turned and smiled at the women, "but do not worry, we will not have the smelly job of skinning and preparing the meat, as Keegan has all ready said he would gladly do it, if he could not be here this day."
And as everyone knew it would take days to get the smell of fresh lizard inners off of a person, no matter how much they washed, that was why the cooks did it and then got a four day pass to get ride of the smell in.
He looked at the two women, "but I don't care, the view is good and I have the company of the two loveliest Seraphs of The Keep this day."
