 Angel - Overview

Angels

Looks:
These are the most common sentient being on Aethesurin. Each of them bares two wings that can ranging in size from as short as a 4 foot wing span to 10 foot span at adulthood. Their wings come in all various colors and patterns, along with their eyes and hair colors.

Life Style:
Most of the Angels live with in the walls of Aethedryn, the main city of the Angels. There they thrive in all of their arts and crafts, and tall pale buildings carved from stone. Angels have something near mortality, in a sense. They can only die three ways, killed by murder or battle, fading from sadness, or life completion. They do not seem to age beyond the years of 25 in appearence, though they mature in spirit and personality. The following chart will depict age. [image]
Those who are younger then the choosing age are considered cherubs. At which time they spend most of their years learning in the halls of Otarinith being tought by the High Council members. The choosing ceremony is just a ritual which just shows that the child has learned enough to proclaim what they believe in. Before the prophecy, cherubs would proclaim their belief in the Divine and Sayjinn. (Link to their religion will later be provided.)

Leadership:
They are ruled over by what some would claim as a monarchy, the Archangels, but a fair one at that, loved by almost everyone, with a council to back them up. Neither is given exact powers, but it would be easiest to claim that the council has more political power and the Archangel line has more of a social power. But they bother overlap.

Knowledge:
All Angels know of Revsil Illen's prophecy, though they have different takes on it. Some feel that the entire thing is a joke, some sort of farce, though the most common belief is that something might come and destroy the world, or at least attempt to, but it is nothing they can yet conceive. The other thought on the situation is that humans are what is going to eventually destroy all that is good in the wall. They will site quotations from the prophecy to prove their point.

 Angels - Archangel

Archangel

Past:
It seems that there has always been an Archangel to guide the rest. Though no one knows for sure why this family had been chosen so many years before memory and the faded paper had been writen, but one would assume that the entire family was a strong and noble one of great mental and physical strength. These men had always ruled, and there had never been a struggle for power with in the family, though that may be due to the inclination that the family would only have one child.

Currently:
Today in power is the Archangel Daerthien, he and is beautiful wife Saeninni have two children, the older being Phalien in line for the so called throne, and Kateleth their younger daughter. Unfortunetly, Saeninni had died during child birth to their daughter. Phalien is currently a strong young male who has professed that he follows the common faith and is soon to be inducted as the Archangel by his father. Daerthien is still keeping everything under control, even after the mysterious murder of the last Master of the Keep, but in his old age he seems to be having trouble.

 Angels - High Council

High Council

Creation:
The Archangel's duties were becoming more and more numerous, and since populations had been increasing his ability to meet the people began to decline, and so many generations back the Archangel had created a council for him so he could keep in better touch with his people. These people tended to be those well liked, teachers, or those who served the public in some way. Soon they began to gain their own power, naturally, and the Archangels did nothing to stop it since the distribution of power did not worry them.

Current Responsibilities:
During modern times the High Council is asked to do a few things. It's original job tended to be to inform the Archangel on the goings on in the world and to inform the people, or the children (also know as cherubs.) They currently are expected to teach the children at Otarinith in the center of the land, keeping everyone, even the humans if they wish, well educated. They also currently form laws, one being thought about is the right to carry a weapon. Some feel that only the Seraphs should be allowed to wield swords and the like, while others think it is not a safe idea. The council also discusses what the meaning of the Prophecy could be, and decides what is socially and lawfully acceptable. Usually though, their social laws are only followed if the Archangel Follows them, since the common person feels like it's once face to identify with.

 Angels - Illenist

Illenist

Beliefs:
The Illenists differ from the common Angel in one way, how they feel the Prophecy of Revsil Illen should be followed. They feel that humans are the root of the evil foretold in Illen's vision, and that they must be eradicated before they have a chance to fulfill the prophecy. Originally, the entire thing started out as a more peaceful debate in a quiet room, pointing out that there are evils in the world that could be the source of this prophecy. Soon the idea did catch on, and for a while it remained peaceful until vigilantes started to take action into their own hands when Illenists in the High Council could not convince the council to take actions.

Currently:
As of six years ago, the vigilantes have been gathered under the rule of a High Holy, who when found out by the council members was exiled from the city and council. That was merely four years ago. During this time he has gathered in Sibrinith Woodlands where his family had owned a rather large mansion, or Chateau, and began to house those who would be helpful to his cause. His determination has set forth a line which is starting to divide the Angelic race as some attack humans, and some protect them.

 Seraph - Overview

Seraphs

Looks:
These beings are not nearly as common as their Angelic cousins, but are main difference that is obvious is their third wing. Though some humans would perceive this as something that would get in the way, it does allow for steering at great speeds. Again, their wings and looks come in a wide variety, but they do tend to appear more physically fit then the Angels.

Life Style:
Firstly, they age just as the Angels do, so see Angel Over view if you need to see the aging chart. As a child, though, they are called Seraphim. They spend only half as much time in Otarinith as the cherubs, because they spend the other half of their childhood learning how to fight. Seraphs are the warriors of the race, if you can consider them part of the Angelic race. Their has never been a successful birth between Seraphs and Angels. Also, women Seraphs happen to be born at a lesser rate, and though some of them fight in the army, they are usually treated very well to stay at home to continue to create Seraphim for feed the warrior army that is being amassed to protect against the evil in the prophecy and any unruly citizens.

Leadership:
The Master of the Keep is in charge of watching over the other Seraphs, keeping them in order, a general of sorts. Most of them look up to the Master of the Keep for strength. This will be explained below in the next entry.

Knowledge:
They really aren't given much of a choice to choose their way in the prophecy, since they are meant to live more in battle and protection. Most generally don' care what the prophecy says, except it keeps up their life style to protect against the 'impending evil', although there are some that feel the way that angels do. The common belief, the Illenist, or that there is nothing to the prophecy.

Seraphs - Master of the Keep

Master of the Keep

Creation:
In the past one of the Seraphs, Avarus, who was a very good friend of the Archangel of the time, was thought to be a very masterful strategist, and he began to help train other Seraphs. He built, with the help of others of course, a Keep, a place where Seraphs could train in the ways of the sword, and maybe teach an interested Angel or two. The place became known as the Keep, because of it's strong and strategic position. And though the Keep was in the care of more then Avarus, he was the most predominate Seraph there, and the Archangel then gave him the title of "Master of the Keep". He also started the Seraph Games.

Currently: Up until a year or so ago, the Master of the Keep had been Varnec, but he had been murdered but not before mentioning Darrius as his heir. Darrius was a younger Seraph, good hearted and rather easy on the eyes of the female Seraphs, he was a logical choice. But When his friend Varnec had been murdered, it was a very unpleasing thought. Darrius had been told by him that he had a break through in the idea about the Prophecy, and was going to break the news real soon after he had to break the news to someone who deserved to know the news first.

 Humans - Overview

Humans

Looks:
They contain nothing out of the ordinary. They lack wings of any kind, but they tend to appear to have stronger builds since they don't have to fly. But that is only on average as Angels can easily also be bigger then humans. They can have any color hair and eyes.

Life Style:
In general they can be anything from a merchant, to blacksmith, to farmer. Farmer probably being the most common in the lands of Kascdial. Their life tends to be more modest, and obviously shorter. They age as all do, changing appearance with each year, with age. Only in the past year or so are they starting to realize that they are being attacked by some of the Angels, and they do not yet understand why. Some shop owners close their stores when Angels walk by, or just shoot nasty glares at them.

Leadership:
Once again it is a Monarchy, the lord or lady of the land rules it. The leaders have ranged from fair and just to tyrannical. At points in the past the land has gone through civil war, locking it's self up in battle, preventing it from the luxurious lives that the Angels are able to live in the lack of battle.

Knowledge:
They have heard a little bit here and there about the Prophecy, it's more of a tale passed down from generation to generation as a bed time story, so it has become muddled and unclear.
