Jem had gotten all quiet while Jack spoke about life being unfair, and how people were held back. She almost wanted to tell him that everyone in the bar, including herself had put money in that little bag, in order to keep this place a safe haven. Thus in a sense was she also one of those being held back by others? She just scooped up another bite and chewed on it slowly, letting the hot raspberry sauce melt the ice cream in her mouth.
“You are right, sometimes life is to fair, but some of us are not as brave as others, thus we have to give in, in order to survive.” She whispered these words, thought she was not really sure if he heard her or not.
Jem was a survivalist; she did what she had to do, short of sleeping her way out of problems. All of which had kept her sort of safe and sort of out of trouble. Perhaps she was not too proud of some of the things she had done, but those were the things she placed in the back of her mind, and rarely ever spoke of to anyone. Especially when she was with someone whom was so brave and ever so much fun to be with.
Jem just grinned when he asked what it was in the bowel before him. “It is one of Sam’s dessert he cooked up one night, hot raspberry sauce, ice cream and whipped cream. He doesn’t make it that often, only when he can get the raspberries, so it is indeed a treat.” She took another bite, paused in thought some.
“You must tell be were this place was that they asked you to remove your clothes, and if you will be ever playing there again, as I would not mind seeing you perform.” She gave him a very wicked smile, mostly to prove that she was only teasing about watching him strip.

“You are right, sometimes life is unfair, but some of us are not as brave as others, thus we have to give in, in order to survive.” He heard what she said. As he spooned another mouthful between his lips, it didnt look like he had heard her words; he made no outward reaction, nothing that could of been physically noticed, no matter how much his blood boiled on the inside. Survival shouldnt be something you're forced to do. Life shouldnt be something given up, just so you can breath day in, day out, within a world of darkness and fear. Being brave, huh.. Perhaps it's nothing more than apathy, mixed with delusions of grandeur. Or perhaps it is nothing more than stupidity. When moronity overtakes weakness. When the person just stops caring about them, and start caring about everyone else.. Yet, that still didnt explain Jack. He didnt care about himself; not even remotely. He'd seen the worst of humanity, he'd been under the fist countless times. He ahd no qualms about pain, agony, death. And still, he wasnt brave. He couldnt just get up, and stop those Seraphs. And although it did bother him, he let it drop; or, tried to. He had more important concerns for the moment.
"I fear if I ever go there again, they'll force me to take it all off. I outrun them once, I doubt my chances for the second time!" he said, with a laugh sprouting between closed lips and the metal spoon pressed under his tongue. "But, maybe if you were in the audience, it wouldnt be so bad. At least every eye wouldnt be male.." he said, adding a wink of his own into the mix. Finally, he was smiling like he meant it again, like before those Seraphs had burst into the room; where it wasn't forgotten, he easnt letting it bother him anymore. And the difference in his personality was obvious.
Taking the spoon out of his hand, he gently prodded the raspberry sauce, gently turning the ice-cream into a paradoxically warm-yet-cool thick drink, much akin to a drink he had tried once many moons ago, aptly named a Milk-shake. "Raspberries, huh.." Travelling alot, you learn to know what berries are healthy, which plants you can eat, and othe such detaisls that, quite literally, reign over whether you live or die out in the wild. These Rasp-berries, he hadnt heard of, and was quite curious. "Do they grow around these parts? Most berries I find taste quite sour and.. well, hideous, to tell the truth.." He pulled a sickly face, as if eating an incredibly sour berry, sticking out his long tongue to excentuate the expression, exxagerate it so that it was almost even funny to see. Jacks whole life, his 'act' as he called it, seemed centered one making people smile, and laugh. It almost seemed sad, that a man such as him would do anything to make somebody smile, no matter what; yet, you never really felt that way until Jack was out of your presence. Only then did you realise how dark his eyes were..
"Maybe I'll have to grab me some of these Rasp-berries, if I see any around here. I'm never against a sweet treat when I'm off on my travels." He put the spoon down to the side of the dish, and with a finger, scooped up a finger-full of the raspberry sauce, popping it into his mouth. "Mmmm.." was all that came out of his mouth, eyes closed, his lips turned up into a smile. "Maybe the guys at the Tavern would appreciate me a bit more if i was drizzled in this stuff, huh.." he added, with another laugh. "I very much doubt they'd be chasing me off with sticks and stools again.."
"You can have my love, you can have my smiles. Forget the bad parts, you don't need them. Just take the music, the goodness, because it's the very best, and it's the part I give!"

Jem just looked at him a moment or two, whether it was shock or not by what he had just said, one could not tell. Then she was digging in a pocket and pulled out a piece of dirty parchment and a stick of dark charcoal.
"Here, tell me the name of that place, as it sounds very interesting." Here she looked up at him, "also when you plan to go back, as I think that might be a show worth seeing." She was bitting her lip to hold back the laughter.
"But on the serious side, I would gladly be willing to help clean you up after your show if you were indeed cover in sauce?" She leaned back in her chair, and arched a red brow, letting him come to whatever conclusion he so desired.
"But as for the Raspberries, they grow wild around here, I can show you where they grow. But like all sweet and pretty things...they do have thorns." Jem just smile as him mischievously.
