"Me? Bad? No!" He said, a slight laugh rumbling in his throat. Bad implied he still had a sense of decency in him. Then again, Samael viewed himself as a Patriot, a murderous, possibly mad Patriot, but one none the less. He wanted to save the world, well his race, from the maniacal humans. The bastards who didn't really deserve to live, not here anyways.

He stopped laughing when he saw her eyes, her face hid her fear well, but her eyes show suspicion and concern. His unappointed laughter would only spark a fire waiting to explode. He would have to hold on a bit better, it was not insanity. No, it was more of him seeing the humor of it all. Everyone knew the joke, yet it was him who had already guessed the punch line.

"My lady, you fail to remember that I have nothing to prove. You already think I am insane, and that will make it that much harder to get under the covers with you," He said with a wink. "You on the other hand have several masters who undoubtedly think you are weak, mainly because you are a female. Sexist pigs, eh?" Samael looked around, feeling his coat pockets, then growled. "Got anything to eat on that sexy body of yours?" He was no charmer, he knew that, but he also knew his chances were shot, unless something really weird happened, and that was even less likely than her having food.

Avary went wide eyed, and she suddenly felt like she should be wearing twenty layers of clothing with leather straps and buckles, probably some chains too to secure them on. The only people to ever talk to her that way were drunk so it was easy to dismiss; they were all talk. But this man had planned to fight a throng of humans on his own! She wished he was manic, and not interested in her...

"What? No! ... You - that's... stop talking to me like that!" She tried to make herself more stern and stand up straighter, as if she was not so faint of heart at the moment. "It doesn't make me want to come any closer to you!" He had seemed to be at least attempting to sound descent but now he just lost it, it through her off, and she didn't know how to react.

"It's probably more due to the fact that I am young, and not that I am a woman!" She glared at him, as if he was saying something insulting by that. Truth was, it was the only way she knew how to respond, because she couldn't figure out how to respond to his obvious failure of trying to seduce her.

"Please, my red eyed queen." He soon sat on a log, folding his legs under him, like a man setting down to meditate. However, he placed his hands on his knees and leaned forward. "You know as well as I do that their are plenty of males, about your age, maybe even younger, who have more power than you do in your pinky. Then again, perhaps..."

Samael trailed off, mainly in thought. Could she be one of those who had not initially sided with the Illenist. Perhaps she was one of those 'lucky' ones who had trained under the tutelage of a High Holy, or one of the higher ranking angels. That could indeed insinuate why she was here, and not in the Illenist clan hall practicing her sword fighting.

"Then again, another thought comes to my head. Perhaps the reason is, they just plain don't trust you. Yes, they could explain it even more, they don't doubt your skills, they doubt your loyalty." Samael smiled, and although he wanted to laugh, he held it back. He would not be surprised if she came over and tried to slap him across the face.

We should kill her, perhaps there is a reason they don't trust her.

Samael replied to the voice in his head. 'Ah, but you fail to realize, Zjevha, that I do. Perhaps we can even swing her to our side.' He could hear the other voice mull it over, mumbling while thinking. Even though Zjevha was in his head, he was another mind entirely, more like he was somewhere else, and could only use Samael's ears and eyes. It was an odd partnership, one where neither held complete power.

Avary spent most of the time while he spoke trying to figure out what his finger analogy meant. She was rather confused about it and came to the conclusion that he miss spoke it. "I think you might have meant that men have more power in their pinky then I have?" She was correcting him, and being amused by it, even if what he had meant was a little hurtful.

"And doubt my loyalty? I have always believed in the prophecy and it's true meaning, not what some of the High Council members try to brush off on the cherubs. I have fought them tooth and nail, even with my old friends about the subject. There is no reason for me to not be trusted." She insisted. It did not occur to her that he might be implying her higher class origin, because for one thing, Jericho himself had been a Council member, while Avary disregarded her parent's status and resented them for it. The weren't council members, just rich and attempting to always move up in class.

"The titles you are giving me are obviously not complements but are rather condescending. I don't appreciate them." She reiterated her status on him giving her titles. She didn't mind using them herself when appropriate, but she was no one of consequence.

Samael blinked, and laughed inspite of himself. "You are right, oh gracious lady, forgive my pathetic farmboy origins. I just can't help but mess up my words," Samael clasped his hands together. "Thank you, oh thank." His laughter was more than just a mockery of her, but his smile reveled all.

He sneered at the woman, a smile splayed across his face, and he brushed away his hair, almost an exact contrast to her's. He himself was of no merger origins, he came from a rich family, but one that had hated the humans, probably even before the Prophacy. But that was the past, and the past is where those memories would stay, he felt no need to bring them back to his head.

Samael wondered exactly what he was gaining from this talk? Taunting people got boring after awile, and while he may be able to do it for long time, it would only waste his time. "So, m'Lady Avary," He started. "What are you doing then, getting tired, perhaps, of the ineffectiviness of the Illenist cause, preparing to strike out on the humans by yourself?"

Avary moved to run forward and kick him in the face, but stopped only just after starting. This could be what he wants. Bring her closer under her own will so she doesn't expect his attack, so instead she let out an exasperated sigh.

"No..." Avary answered slowly. She had yet to take on a human, not to mention kill one. She hadn't taken that step, even though she new it needed to be done, but she was still young and idealistic; she hoped that the Seraphs would see the light and take care of the job. But then the word 'ineffectiveness' hit her ears and she then wanted to know what he had meant by that. "What do you mean? It's not as if we had been organized for that long. You have to give the Illenists and Jericho some time to put some things in place. You aren't loosing faith in the cause, are you?"

Not that it truly mattered to her that her personally was involved in the Illenists. If she was asked, she wouldn't lie, she would rather the Seraphs come and take him away and lock him up then her have to deal with him. But the idea that someone might loose faith in the cause was rather disheartening. How could they convince others to see the truth if their own people disowned the idea.

"Weak, incompitent, worthless." Samael said, waving his hand as he spoke. He had noticed Avary move, though she stopped short of attacking, which was slightly disheartening. She might just be as ineffective as Jericho and the others. "No, m'Lady, we have been around for a long time, maybe not under the Illenist name, but certainly united in our need to destory human life. But, it does not take much to kill humans, and the fact that your leaders only talk about it, instead of doing anything about, make them as effective as that fool Fennic."

Samael shook his head at her next question though. "And no, I have not lost heart in my cause, I have lost trust in the leaders of my cause though. Tell, me, what have they done that has truly been anything more than them sitting around saying how much they hate the humans." Looking down, with his eyes, he caught the sight of a flower, full in bloom. He smiled at the blue petals, and the stem was a vibrant green.

"You say me, ready to lay my life on the line for my cause, and yet, you were to scared to commit something like that yourself. Can you, m'lady, pick up sword, and truly do something? Or are you too scared of what might happen?" He started to rotate the flower in his hand. "Are you willing to lay your life down for the cause?"

Avary's anger was only boiling up, and soon it would boil over. But she attempted to keep restrained in fear that he might use her rage against her. Attack her when she wasn't ready. "They have succeeded in numerous raids - a whole human village has been wiped out by them - and also remaining relatively hidden from the Seraphs and the Council! They have spread the Illenist idea, when the Council members have refused to teach it with in the library they brought it in!" Her voice had steadily increased in both volume and speed while she spoke.

"I see you, I saw you jump in front of twenty humans and almost die! I don't care what you say, the numbers would have killed you in moments, and you would have only killed a dozen at the most! But if you attack these things day after day, one at a time, over your existence you can destroy so much more! And for myself?! I would lay down my life for this cause, die in it's name, be imprisoned because I won't deny what I believe! Just because I haven't made the step to actually killing one of those things yet, does not mean I don't plan to kill a city's worth during my life!"

Though one might assume since she hadn't killed a human yet she might not be a true lllenist, but the conviction in her voice would almost be enough to turn over any doubt created by her honesty.

Samael didn't laugh this time, whether he wanted to or not, he felt it was not the place. She seemed naïve, and yet full of energy. To bad the Illenist held her back, either through bigotry, or because of something she was not telling him, or perhaps not even telling herself. But it was her choice, and her choice alone, but perhaps he could sway her to his side, if she could see the faliures of her Leaders.

"Perhaps you see things as if looking at a picture, you can only see still images," He waved his hand, in case she would try to interupt him. "I am not trying to be condensending here, just hear me out. You have been told, no doubt, what to do, to watch the humans, or just sit by, letting them do what they wish. You claim that they have raised a village, when both you and I know burning a weak human village to the ground is no hard job, and it should be done much more often, not once." He raised his eyebrow, trying to stress his point.

"While other human settlements, such as the Divine Citadel, remain relatively untouched. Why? Because they would overwelm us, because they are using arrows and pikes? No, because the leaders of the Illenist cause are lazy, they don't want to act out. It is cowardly." Samael smiled. "And you claim they are hiding from the Seraphs, when in fact, the Seraphs are not truly hunting the Illenist at all, they are simply protecting the human settlements. I though even you would be able to see that. Sure, one or two of the crazy bastards might hunt you, but not the group as a whole."

"And about the me attack the humans, you forgot one advantage I have that they don't. I can fly, and thus, I can strike at certain points, fly and strike another. I don't need to be hindered by the usual drag of having to run. Just cause you didn't see how to win, didn't mean I didn't. I am stronger, faster, and better trained than the humans. Don't ever let someone tell you 'You can't' kill humans because they will out number you. It is not true." He stood then, and while he was only a little taller than her, he tried to looked his most impressive, and then presented her with the flower. The petals had long since blackened, though whether from his touch, or for some other reason, that was for her to decide.

"Oh, lucky me!" she took the flower sarcastically, quickly snatching it from his hand, not even to look at it and notice it's withered look. "A gift with a long list of insults of myself and my true kin, and challenges of my beliefs! What a lucky girl I am!" Then she tossed the flower aside, glaring up at him, her anger now overpowering what fear she had for him.

"You think that we don't attack the small villages? We have! They've been destroyed, there aren't many left, even if any! They are all larger now, very few even traveling outside their main city, while their walls remain well guarded. The amount needed to sneak in to defeat the humans can't exactly just walk in and take over. There would be a good amount of us shot dead with arrows before we could make it into Liwrmen! By both humans and Seraphs!" She was gesturing rather wildly, even at one point or another push his shoulders to force him back a little.

"Maybe the Seraphs don't hunt us down all the time, but if we come near a human city and they are near, often we are as good as dead. One, like yourself, is probably able to loose them in the woods somewhere. But with a vast group, it's nearly impossible! And you know what? If you don't think that the human arrows would have gotten you as you battled them back there... well, let's just say I can't wait to see your corpse filled with arrows!" Avary couldn't stand anyone who thought they were indestructable, it was illogical and just plain stupid! They might as well think that they could live forever, the prophecy had no meaning and that their soul didn't visit Sayjinn every night when they slept! Idiot!

Samael laughed lightly to himself, clapping his hands together. His smile had certainly changed, on more sinister, and far more malicious in design. "Please good princess. Getting angry at me will not improve your relationship with your lords. You try to criticize me at every turn, and I have yet to truly say anything mean against you personally, just against your leaders. And that your ignorant with the world, but again, that is not your fault."

Samael folded his arms against his chest. "If you wish to call me a fool, call me a fool, if you think I am a coward, call me a coward. But your words mean nothing, for you yourself have done nothing to assist in our survival. So get off your high horse, woman, you are not as special as you think you are." Samael could see the rising smoke in the distance.

"You wish to make some kills against the human kind. I am sure we can find a human farm, and we can see who is really more willing for the cause, no danger involved... for us." He smiled, as he knew just the place. "Are you willing to prove to yourself that you are ready for the Cause?"

"Prove?" She asked as she stepped away from him, "You have just said I don't have anything to prove. Now you are going back on your own word? Really. I think I will call you a hypocrite. I feel as if I have wasted more then enough time with you, you are just trying to divert me away from the Illenists. In truth you are on succeeding in diverting me from you." Then she made a sharp turn and started to walk away. She didn't have to take this from him, nor from anyone. Although she told herself that she would kill humans, she would like to take that step when she had to come to it, when she was good and ready. But soon, she insisted to herself.

What he said only made her angrier, it didn't make her doubt what she had made to be her cause, or what her leaders have said. The only result was a young hot headed girl become more and more frustrated with this guy she believed she had saved from a horrible death. Was he greatful? No.

Over her shoulder she called back, "I would say fairwell, but I'd rather you don't." Then she stopped and hunched down ready to take off.

Samael simply shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets, he watched the woman walk away, undoubtedly getting ready to leave. "Well, at least my first goal was met, you are no longer scared at the very sight of me. So maybe it can all work out in the end, love. Well, good luck, undoubtedly we will meet again, and I very much look forward to it. Think on what I have said." He looked skyward then.

He smiled as the sun hit his face, illuminating it. Spreading his wings, he was the very image of holy. As if he was in some ancient book, ready to lead mankind to heaven. His coat swayed in the wind, and did not even bend his knees. Then like a arrow, he burst skyward, unwavering, unweilding.

Samael thought about his next course of action. He could head back to the Citadel, but he knew the humans would be expecting that. Besides, she did make a good point that he would die should he attempt it again. Perhaps he needed a force of his own, a group allied to him and a new ideal. Men and women who were not afraid of what would come next. His next stop should either be Aethedryn City, or the Chateau. Choices, choices.

She did not turn to see his little pose in the sunlight. She could have cared less, and wouldn't have notice any importance in it. Well, maybe that the sun was rather bright and she shouldn't be in it for too long today. But Avary was rather upset that he had taken her dramtic and enraged exit away from her. So, instead of sharing the sky with him, she relaxed her shoulders and wings and began to walk towards Sibrinith. Her mind wasn't on his words, but on his stupidity; at least that was her opinion of him. He almost died and she helped him out, but no thanks.

She thought about the first time they had stumbled across him, and still it did not sit right with her. Maybe she wasn't afraid of him, but she would not trust him, or want to be in a room alone with him. Really, she wouldn't want to even see him. But that wasn't her choice, he seemed set on it. Avary sighed and thought that enough time had passed that she could safely take to flight without running into Sammael. And so she did, and went back to Sibrinith.
