"Thats why it makes it easier to talk to people who start off disliking me, because I know you like me for who I am opposed to what I am. Same as me for you, I enjoy your company because of Avary, not because of an Illenist. I like to separate the identity from the person... or .. something like that," he sort of gives her an awkward smile because he was rambling about psychological things he doesn't really understand himself, or at least that he could explain very well.

She realized that this was getting awkward fast, and so she continued on by saying something else entirely. "Really? I thought you were just wanted to talk to me because I looked pretty." Of course she was just joking, and made sure that her voice explained that.

"Maybe it was that," he winked, and set his hand on the door to the entrance to the party. He let her arm fall slightly, because he knew she wouldn't want to be the center of gossip. He'd hold her arm on his proudly if she would've liked it, but he had a feeling she'd rather not have the attention and the whispers. He gave her a look of understanding, hoping she'd know he wasn't ashamed of her.

Avary wasn't sure what was about to happen. He dropped her arm, which she had honestly forgotten that she was holding on to. "And how can you be so sure that I like you? I haven't even decided if I truly do or don't yet." Her lips curved into a smirk, meanwhile she was thinking that she might choose to enter through another door, separate from him, but did it matter at this moment? She really did not want her parents to pressure her about Phalien... or about anyone.

"Everyone likes me, You said it yourself," He smirks. He waited for her to make a move, "If you want to go in another way or something, I don't mind. I mean, your parents and all... " he looked at her a little sadly, "I mean, for once your a girl I wouldn't mind walking in with but.. y'know how it is..." he paused again, "I would like you to come in with me, though... just for the record."

Avary looked up at him startled. "You want me to walk in with you?" For a moment she was quiet and then she smiled and laughed softly, "And then what? You drive the whole world insane because they are baffled by your decision to go around with an Illenist girl?" Maybe she was just pushing him away, but she really just couldn't see this making any sense, or lasting beyond the next few moments.

"Maybe just drive the world insane that I found a friend who didn't throw themselves at me, Your associating yourself more with the Illenist stereotype then me, ma'am," he said, holding a steady smile. "I don't want you to think I'd have this nice talk and chase without the walk back home, so to speak..."

"It's only because it is the word that most would define me as. I have had a nice conversation with you, but I have yet to really know you, and therefore know for sure that you are not a stereotypical member of this society. Maybe I generalize too much but I have at least given you a shot, and believe me your title harmed you more then helped you so far." She then paused for a moment and thought that she should at least give him a bit of hope, "Though, your words and actions have been... gentlemanly." She wasn't about to admit charming.

Phalien stuck his tongue out at her.
"I don't understand really what you just said about giving me a shot but my title harmed me more then helped me.... but I really wanna know whether you wanna walk back in with me or if you want to walk in and I'll wait ten minutes and walk in later so you can walk in alone."

"You barely know me." She wanted him to realize that, "But... I will walk in with you." Avary wasn't to certain that this was what she wanted, but she felt that she wasn't going to hurt this guys feelings simply because she didn't want her parents to be happy, or to expect to much of her and whatever this was. She smiled up at him and wrapped her arm around his, gently. There was no tight clinging, because that was not her style.

Avary hadn't meant to hurt Phalien's feelings in that sense, but to simply remind him that they didn't know each other. They had only met that night. "Then you must know I have a soft spot for sad saps who would most likely cry if I turned them down." She said almost dismissively, but had trouble hiding her amusement at his certainty of the situation. Right now Avary worried that the other girls might be jealous now, but will be abhorred with rage when they learned that she was an Illenist, but she pushed that aside because he wanted to walk with her at that moment, and that was good enough.
